You mean just to be other people. It’s not “being yourself” to pretend to be something you’re not. It’s the opposite of that. If I say I’m Ben Maguire, North Cornwall Liberal Democrat, I’m not being myself, I’m pretending to be someone else. Pretending to be someone else is the opposite of just being yourself. How is this not blindingly obvious?

I think he might mean being un-British in the sense that Jean Paget, heroine of Nevil Shute’s A Town Like Alice, would have been had she indulged her moral instincts and taken it as read that Aborigines should not be segregated rather than first politely sounding out the opinion of the local (white) townsfolk.

Who has really been claiming that black is white (men are women)? Who has been insisting that wrong (cheating, lying) is right? Who has been refusing to compromise at all (no “third spaces”)? Who has had zero respect or compassion for women, who are inherently vulnerable to male pattern violence?
It’s been T and their allies, every single time. Classic DARVO; every claim of T victimhood is an admission of their own misconduct toward women.
The reason trans ppl are so vulnerable is that they’ve become convinced that in order to “be themselves” and not fall apart all other people either have to agree with them or pretend to agree with them. That’s the shaky sort of position which requires a lot of firm control in order to keep it from toppling over.
